Happy New Year everyone! My hubby and I began the day by watching the Texas Tech game and cheering as Bob Knight broke the record for number of wins. We spent the rest of the day snacking and watching the bowl games. All in all, it was a great way to start a new year. For New Year's Eve, we were privaleged to enjoy a great evening of dancing and fellowshipping with friends at our local community center where a local band, Los Greengos, performed some of the greatest rock classics from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. My husband and I used to be terrible dancers, but we're getting better. This year we tried to go out dancing at least once a month and the practice is paying off. I've come to the conclusion that dancing is not only good for the body, but good for the soul also. There's just something about just letting go of your every day life and surrendering yourself to the magic of the music. Too bad most adults can't seem to participate in the joy unless they have consumed large amounts of alcohol. What happens to us as we get older that we are so self conscious and worried about what others think that we can't let ourselves go? Have you ever watched children at any musical event? They are so precious and uninhibited. Why do we lose that part of yourselves as we get older? I will close my first post of the year with the hope that each of you, this year, will live your life to the fullest and when you get the opportunity to dance. . . dance like no one's watching!
